Petrol-Diesel-Prices-Nepal-Increase-Featured-Image
The state-owned Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has hiked the price of petrol by Rs 2 and diesel/kerosene by Rs 9 per litre respectively. After the price hike, petrol will cost Rs 181 per litre whereas the price of diesel and kerosene has been fixed at Rs 172 per litre. The price of aviation fuel (domestic) has also been increased by Rs 5 per litre. The prices of petrol and diesel were slashed by Rs 20 and Rs 29 per litre respectively on June 26. However, according to the corporation, the prices had to be increased on the basis of the new prices sent by the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC). The debt-laden NOC has also requested the government to introduce a fuel quota system for vehicles and an odd-even vehicle rationing system given the difficulties in purchasing fuel. These prices will be in effect from 12 am Tuesday, July 5, 2022.
